The Pulaski County
Jail has a maximum capacity of 120 inmates with the capability to
double
to 240 inmates. There are sixteen jailers supervised by a Jail
Commander. Some of their many responsibilities include booking in
new inmates, distribution of meals and prescribed medication,
transportation of inmates to and from other correctional
institutions, doctor and dentist offices. The jail on a daily
basis averages 100 inmates a day, 50 of them from the Indiana
Department of Corrections. In addition to the nurse 5 days a week, a
Doctor comes to the facility once a week.
